ዩኒቲ ዩኒቨርሲቲ አስመረቀ !

ሐምሌ 26 ቀን 2017 ዓ.ም 43ኛው ዙር የዩኒቲ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ልዩ የተማሪዎች ምረቃ ሥነ ስርዓት በደማቅ ሁኔታ ተካሄደ

ይህ የምረቃ ሥነ ስርዓት ከተለያዩ የትምህርት ፋካሊቲ ለተውጣጡና ትምህርታቸውን ላጠናቀቁ ተማሪዎች ሲሆን በዓይነቱ ለየት ያለ ነበር፡፡ ተመራቂዎቹ የሚጠበቅባቸውን ሁሉ ያጠናቀቁ ሲሆኑ በመጪው ዓመት በጥር ወር (2018) በሚደረገው ዋነኛው የምረቃ አካል ሆነው ለመመረቅ ቢችሉም 6 ወራት መጠበቅ ስለሌለባቸው በልዩ ሁኔታ እንዲመረቁ ተደርጓል፡፡ ይህም ተማሪዎቹ እስከ መጪው ጥር ወር ያለ ሥራ ከምንቀመጥ ሥራ እየሠራን ብንቆይ በሚል ለዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዚዳንትና ሲኢኦ ቢሮ ባቀረቡት ጥያቄ መሰረት ጉዳያቸው በሴኔት ታይቶ በልዩ ሁኔታ እንዲመረቁ ተወስኖላቸው የምርቃት ሥነስርዓታቸው በጥሩ ሁኔታ ባማረው አዳራሻችን ውስጥ ወላጆቻቸውና እንግዶች በተገኙበት በደማቅ ሁኔታ ተከናውኖላቸዋል ፡፡

በዕለቱ 64 ተማሪዎች የተመረቁ ሲሆን ለማዕረግ ተመራቂዎች የሜዳሊያና ዋንጫ ሽልማት ተበርክቶላቸዋል፡፡ ለመጀመሪያ ዲግሪ የማዕረግ ተመራቂዎች ሁለተኛ ዲግሪያቸውን ዩኒቲ ላይ የመማር ፍላጎት ካላቸው የ50 ፐርሰንት ስፖንሰር እንደሚያገኙ ከዩኒቨርሲቲው ፕሬዚዳንት እና ሲኢኦ ዶ/ር አረጋ ይርዳው ተገልጾላቸዋል፡፡ በመጨረሻም ተመራቂዎች፣ ወላጆች እና እንግዶች ከዩኒቨርሲቲው የሴኔት አባላትና ከፕሬዚዳንቱ ጋር የማስታወሻ ፎቶ በመነሳት የመርሃ ግብሩ ፍጻሜ ሆኗል፡፡

Unity University’s president and CEO Dr. Arega Yirdaw conducted a one day (March 28, 2025) lecture / presentation to selected 79 members of management and leaders of Debre Markos University via Google Meet.
The presentation was made at the request by Debre Markos University, with which Unity University is set to sign MoU in the near future.

Unity University and Defense Engineering Industry Corporation (DEIC) has signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to participate in knowledge transfer and enhancement.

In line with that and at the request of DEIC, Dr. Arega Yirdaw the President and CEO of Unity University conducted a one-day (March 14, 2025) Lecture/Presentation on the subject “Corporate Governance, Organizational Leadership, and Organizational Structure Development” to the selected DEIC participants at the Officer’s Club in Addis Ababa.

Unity University Signs Two Memoranda of Understanding with Two Companies

MoU Between Unity University and American Medical Center

On March 31, 2025, Unity University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with American Medical Center (AMC). The MoU was signed by Dr. AregaYirdaw, President and CEO of Unity University, and Dr. AkezaTeame, Director and CEO of AMC.

The purpose of the MoU is to facilitate the use of the HabariDOC digital platform within Unity University to enhance access to women’s health and reproductive health services for female students and staff on campus.

In his speech, Dr. AregaYirdaw emphasized the importance of such initiatives in providing quality online reproductive health services to female students and staff through the HabariDOC platform. Dr. AkezaTeame, Director and CEO of AMC, praised the agreement for introducing an advanced digital health platform tailored for low-bandwidth settings. The platform offers a range of remote reproductive health services, including safe sex education, contraception, STD management, and mental health counseling.

Both Dr. AregaYirdaw and Dr. AkezaTeame expressed their commitment to allocating the necessary resources and manpower to achieve the objectives outlined in the MoU.

MoUBetween Unity University and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA)

Unity University has also signed aMoU with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). The agreement was signed by Dr. AregaYirdaw, President and CEO of Unity University, and AtoMichealTamerat, Country Manager of ACCA.

Dr. AregaYirdaw expressed his appreciation for the partnership and reaffirmed his commitment to realizing the objectives of the MoU, which aims to create opportunities for Unity University students to become certified accountants.

Both institutions share a strong commitment to education and the sustainable development of the accountancy profession in Ethiopia and globally. The partnership focuses on maintaining and promoting professional, educational, and ethical standards while offering individuals access to globally recognized qualifications to enhance their career prospects and contribute to the broader economy.

The program aims to produce skilled accounting and finance professionals and provide consultancy services. It also includes staff capacity building, where academic staff will engage in tutorial services, curriculum design, and course development. The collaboration seeks to identify courses that may be exempted for certification, thereby increasing the value and relevance of the university’s accounting and finance programs.

ዩኒቲ ዩኒቨርሲቲ ታላቁ ሩጫ ላይ ተሳተፈ

ታላቁ ሩጫ በኢትዮጵያ የሴቶችን ቀን አስመልክቶ የ5ኪ.ሜ ሩጫን እሁድ መጋቢት 7 ቀን 2017 ዓ.ም ለ22ኛ ጊዜ በደማቅ ሁኔታ አካሄደ ፡፡ የውድድሩ መነሻና መድረሻው አትላስ አካባቢ ሲሆን የኢትዮጵያ ሴቶችን ስኬት የሚያጎሉ የተለያዩ ማህበራዊ መልዕክቶች የተላለፉበት እንዲሁም በማህበረሰቡ ውስጥ የጎላ አበርክቶት ያላቸው ሴቶች እውቅና የተሰጠበት ነበር ፡፡ ዩኒቲ ዩኒቨረሲቲም ታላቁ ሩጫ በኢትዮጵያ የ2017 ዓ.ም ሳፋሪኮም ቅድሚያ ለሴቶች የ5ኪ.ሜ የሴቶች ሩጫ ላይ በምስሉ ላይ እንደምንመለከተው የዩኒቨርሲቲው አባላትን በንቃት አሳትፏል፡፡ የዩኒቲ ዩኒቨርሲቲ የፕሬዚዳንትና ሲኢኦ ቢሮም የሴቶች ቀንን አስመልክቶ የከተማ ውስጥ ሩጫ መካሄዱን አድናቆቱን እየገለፀ ለፕሮግራሙ አዘጋጆችና ተሳታፊዎች ምስጋናውን ያቀርባል፡፡

Memorandum of Understanding between Unity University (UU) and Woldia University (WU)

On February 25, 2025, Unity University (UU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Woldia University (WU) to strengthen collaboration in research, staff exchange, and other joint initiatives.

The signing ceremony took place at the Office of the President and CEO in the presence of vice presidents and other staff members. Dr. Tesfaye Teshome, Senior Vice President for Research/Development, Community, and Industry Linkages at UU, provided a brief overview of the MoU, highlighting its significance in reinforcing the partnership between the two institutions.

The MoU was officially signed by Dr. Berhanu Sisay, Provost of Unity University and delegate of Dr. Arega Yirdaw, President and CEO of UU, along with Dr. Abebe Girma, President of Woldia University.

During the ceremony, both Dr. Berhanu Sisay and Dr. Abebe Girma delivered brief statements outlining their expectations for the collaboration. Dr. Berhanu emphasized UU’s leadership’s eagerness to collaborate with WU, particularly under the guidance of Dr. Arega Yirdaw. Likewise, Dr. Abebe Girma expressed his enthusiasm about renewing the previous partnership with UU and highlighted the MoU’s potential to facilitate staff exchanges and joint research initiatives.

The signing of this MoU marks a pivotal step in strengthening collaboration between private and government institutions. Both universities are committed to maximizing the benefits of this partnership, with a shared goal of enhancing educational and research capacities in alignment with national development objectives.

Unity University Celebrates the 42nd Commencement Ceremony

Unity University held its colorful 42nd commencement ceremony honoring about 2,000 of its graduates both from postgraduate and Undergraduate Degree on February 15 in Addis Ababa and Dessie; and on February 16, 2025 in Adama.

On the occasions trophies were presented by Dr. Arega Yirdaw, President and CEO of the University, to high-achieving graduates, one each from the postgraduate and undergraduate programs. Medals were given to high-achieving graduates from each faculty and distinction students were also recognized and honored for their outstanding academic performances.

In addition, incentives were given with certificates of recognition and appreciation to eight employees of the University that rendered excelling performances diligently with loyalty beyond the call of their duties.
